Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 2026

1. Introduction

Kinemat.ai ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our Users and the personal information contained within the property listings they process. This policy outlines how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information We Collect

In providing our video automation service, we collect the following types of information:

  • User Information: Name, email address, agency name, and billing details of the Real Estate Agent.
  • Listing Data (Temporary): Personal information extracted from the provided URL, including agent names, professional phone numbers, and images containing identifiable property features.
  • Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, and usage logs to ensure system security and prevent abuse.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected:

  • To facilitate the automated generation of property marketing videos.
  • To manage subscriptions and provide customer support.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Automated Decision-Making (ADM) Transparency

Compliance with APP 1.7 (Effective Dec 2026)

The Technology: Our service uses computer programs (algorithms and scraping engines) to identify, extract, and overlay text and images from URLs into video templates.

Kinds of Data Involved: This process uses agent names, contact details, and listing descriptions.

Nature of the Decision: The automated process determines how data is positioned and rendered within a video file.

Rights & Interests: We have assessed that these automated processes do not make decisions that "significantly affect the rights or interests" of an individual (such as credit eligibility or legal status). The output is a marketing tool generated at the direction of the User.

5. Data Minimisation & Retention

On-the-Fly Processing: We apply a strict data minimisation principle. Personal information scraped from listing URLs is used only during the active rendering session.

Deletion: Once the Output Video is delivered, the underlying raw images and text extracted from the URL are purged from our volatile memory. We do not maintain a permanent database of scraped listing data.

6. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties. We may disclose information to:

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting and video rendering infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud).
  • Law Enforcement: Where required by law or a valid court order.
  • Jurisdiction: Your data is stored on secure servers located within Australia.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, and loss. This includes:

  • Encryption of data in transit (SSL/TLS).
  • Regular security audits and "Least Privilege" access controls for our staff.
  • Immediate purging of scraped content post-video generation.

8. Access, Correction, and Complaints

Access: You may request access to the personal information we hold about you by contacting privacy@kinemat.ai.

Complaints: If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact our Privacy Officer. We will respond to all complaints within 30 days.

OAIC: If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
